It has only been a hundred years since the first Europeans arrived in the inhabited districts in East Greenland. Therefore the traditional Inuit culture still plays an important role in the local communities in this remote corner of Greenland.
In East Greenland the old traditions are being kept alive: Original faith is still reflected in the art and handicrafts made by local artists and drum dance is even now performed.
Tasiilaq - formerly Angmagssalik - is located 12 minutes by helicopter away from Kulusuk. Like most other towns in Greenland Tasiilaq is characterised by small, wooden, colourful houses. It is the largest town in East Greenland with around 1700 inhabitants.
