The location of Ilulissat in West Greenland is breathtaking - all year round huge icebergs rising more than hundred metres above sea level can be seen, stranded in the fjord. These icebergs are all products of the most productive glacier in the Northern Hemisphere; The Ilulissat Glacier gives birth to 20 million tons of ice every day - this has earned the area a listing as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Travel by road as far as it allows, and then enjoy a beautiful walk along the Ilulissat Ice Fjord to Sermermiut. Here, traces from the four old Eskimo cultures still can be seen. Hunter's Settlement

Eqip - The Calving Glacier
Eqip glacier is the only glacier in Ilulissat area where we often experience the glacier calving icebergs into the sea. During lunch, we cruise in front of the 5 km wide glacier, and hope for the incredible sight of an iceberg “delivery”. We may be joined by a lot of seabirds as they know by experience that any icebergs calving will provide a huge meal - when the new iceberg rolls in the water it brings up a lot of sea animals to the surface.
Duration: 8 hours (approx.)
Price: DKK 1595 including lunch
Fishing tour
We sail to the fishing spot of the day, most probably near Bredebugt or at the mouth of the Ilulissat Ice Fjord. While waiting for our catch we have time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. By the end of the day we will hopefully bring home different sorts of fish like cod, halibut, redfish and catfish.
Duration: 4 hours (approx.)
Price: DKK 1000
Whale Safari
By boat we go out into the Disko Bay to spot whales. In the summertime humpback whales come to Disko Bay to feed on the capelin, a small herring-like fish. As the humpback whales are protected they are very trusting and can often be enjoyed at close range. However, as this is not a zoo there is of course no guarantee for seeing the whales.
Duration: 5 hours (approx.)
