Grand Tour of South Greenland

Guaranteed Departures from Reykjavik every Friday from 6th July to 17th August.

South Greenland

Experience the highlights of lush and fertile South Greenland. This tour will take you around the Golden Triangle of South Greenland covering many aspects of Greenlandic history and everyday life in the Arctic.

Alluitsup Paa
A visit to this traditional fishing village provides an insight into the original Greenland. The local hunters are still bringing in seals to be sold at the local market, whales can be seen from the shore from mid July and gigantic icebergs cruise past in the open sea.

Hot springs
Visit the
biggest hot spring in Greenland, where it is possible to bathe in the spring whilst watching icebergs floating past in the nearby fjord!

Qaqortoq
Besides being one of the most beautiful towns in Greenland, it is also the region's cultural centre and is famous for the “Man & Stone” art project. It is a historic town with buildings dating back to the first Danish colony trading station.

Narsaq
A small provincial town with an interesting museum area around the old harbour. Many beautiful walking possibilities to the Viking ruins at Dyrnaes and to points of great geological interest.

Narsarsuaq
One of the best areas to take in South Greenland's nature and history. The small settlement offers easy and beautiful hikes through the Flower Valley to the Inland Icecap and excursions to the historic Viking sites where Eric the Red settled.
